Pandora’s Box – Grade 4<\/h3>\n

The pupils of Grade 4 presented Pandora’s Box, an artefact in Greek mythology, taken from the myth of Pandora’s creation in Hesiod’s Works and Days in the school assembly. The audience (pupils from grade 4-9) sat glued to the spot as the play was short and had included contemporary music tracks to give it a little twist. The pupils had taken up their roles quite seriously and their acting was exemplary. They combined the power and intensity of live theatre. The plot explored elements of horror especially when Pandora opened the box. The play ended on a pleasant note with a message on \u2018hope\u2019. The props and costumes added colour to the grandeur of the play.<\/p>\n

Each actor, from the smallest role to the largest, had their moment and knew exactly what they were supposed to do. The choreography was simple enough for each actor to perform it well, yet diverse enough to hold the audience\u2019s attention. The timing of each act was impeccable and their acting chops were undeniably put to good use. The costumes were unique to each group of characters and every item complemented the other.<\/p>\n
