Merryland student Ruth of 8C has been selected as the finalist for her touching poem \u2018\u2019 Battlefield of Life\u2019\u2019 from the entire UAE in the \u201cPoetic Heart Connecting- Humanity 2022\u2019 competition held by SGI- Gulf, Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n

BATTLEFIELD OF LIFE<\/strong><\/p>\n

What does one do when faced with such troubling times?<\/span><\/p>\n

A sad, mellow tune the old clock chimes,<\/span><\/p>\n

With each passing day things just seem to get worse,<\/span><\/p>\n

Has an evil spell been cast, a pernicious curse?<\/span><\/p>\n

What then does one do when all seems lost?<\/span><\/p>\n

When rest is sought after no matter the cost,<\/span><\/p>\n

When the heart is perturbed and worried,<\/span><\/p>\n

When happiness never feels guaranteed.<\/span><\/p>\n

When enduring everyday feels useless,<\/span><\/p>\n

When our lives and souls are truce less,<\/span><\/p>\n

But we have to remember we have no limitations,<\/span><\/p>\n

For the things that hurt us the most are our expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

But we do have a kind friend you see,<\/span><\/p>\n

Something full of peace and harmony,<\/span><\/p>\n

It gives us hope of a better day,<\/span><\/p>\n

It has always helped us find the right way.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s inside each and every one of us,<\/span><\/p>\n

It clears away the doubt and all the fuss,<\/span><\/p>\n

Tomorrow is not promised, you often hear it say,<\/span><\/p>\n

So be sure to do whatever you can today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Resilience is a gift that each one must pursue,<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget its blessings whatever you\u2019re going through,<\/span><\/p>\n

It sets you free just like a bird that\u2019s waited for so long,<\/span><\/p>\n

To find its path, to find where it belongs.<\/span><\/p>\n

So heed my command and take my advice,<\/span><\/p>\n

For sitting and crying will never suffice,<\/span><\/p>\n

So rise up brave solider and take for the battlefield!<\/span><\/p>\n

And don\u2019t forget your will power core shield!<\/span><\/p>\n
