During lessons, students have supervised access to the Internet through our secure network in classrooms and labs. If a student urgently needs to contact a parent, they may use the school landline.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, please note that students must not carry mobile phones in their hands or pockets, nor use them as hotspots or for internet connectivity. This rule applies to any device that uses cellular data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If a mobile phone is seen or heard, any staff member is authorized to confiscate it from the student immediately.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reasons for Strict Enforcement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This policy is strictly enforced to avoid:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Potential misuse of mobile phones: Including taking photos, videos, or accessing social media through cellular data.<\/li>\n<li>Disruptions during lessons: Phones ringing or notifications can distract students and teachers.<\/li>\n<li>Exam violations: Mobile phones are prohibited during internal and external examinations.<\/li>\n<li>Safeguarding and student wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>Cyberbullying and online safety risks<\/li>\n<li>Privacy and security concerns<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging focus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Disciplinary Measures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In line with ADEK\u2019s behavior management policy and our school\u2019s disciplinary procedures:<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Offence (Level 2 Misconduct)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The mobile phone will be confiscated.<\/li>\n<li>Parents will be notified and invited to a face-to-face meeting.<\/li>\n<li>The violation will be recorded as a Level 2 misconduct in Orison.<\/li>\n<li>The phone will be returned to the parent after the meeting and signing an undertaking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Second Offence (Level 3 Misconduct)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The mobile phone will be confiscated.<\/li>\n<li>Parents will be notified and invited to a face-to-face meeting.<\/li>\n<li>The violation will be recorded as a Level 3 misconduct in Orison.<\/li>\n<li>The phone will be returned to the parent after the meeting and signing an undertaking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Repeated Offence (Third Time)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The mobile phone will be confiscated until the end of the term.<\/li>\n<li>Parents will be informed and required to sign an undertaking.<\/li>\n<li>The violation will be recorded in Orison as a repetition of Level 3 misconduct.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><u>STUDENTS NEED TO BE AWARE OF UAE LAWS RELATED TO SOCIAL MEDIA<\/u><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/u.ae\/en\/media\/media-in-the-uae\/media-regulation\">https:\/\/u.ae\/en\/media\/media-in-the-uae\/media-regulation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The UAE has set national standards for media content, and citizens and residents have a responsibility:<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> to respect the regime of the United Arab Emirates, its symbols, and the political system<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> not to offend the divine and Islamic beliefs, and show respect to other religions<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> to respect the culture and heritage of the UAE<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> not to offend national unity nor social cohesion and\/or incite up sectarian, regional and tribal conflict<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> to respect directions and policies of the UAE at the domestic and international levels<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> not to harm the economic system of the country, nor spread rumours, misleading and biased news<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> to respect the government policies to promote national identity and the integration of citizens in the media labour market<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> to respect the principles and codes of ethics of media work<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> not to publish or broadcast information harmful to children, women and other social groups, or that would incite others toward hatred and violence<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> to respect the copyright rules and regulations<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> not to\u00a0 disclose\u00a0 official\u00a0 confidential\u00a0 contacts,\u00a0 military\u00a0 matters\u00a0 or\u00a0 conventions\u00a0 or treaties concluded by the government without proper authorisations<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> not to report distorted proceedings and deliberations of courts or other regulatory bodies<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> not to disclose information on a criminal investigation, which has not been concluded and\/or ordered to be confidential<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> not to publish news, photographs, comments which invade privacy of individuals and families or destroy reputation<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> forging, fabricating documents or presenting incorrect news with bad intent<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> material which harms the national currency or causes a confusion over the economic situation in a country<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> newsletters or advertisements, which include expressions, photographs, or drawings that are in violation of public morals or may confuse the public<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> defaming public officials<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> investigations which deal with more than one party, without giving an account of the views of all parties directly concerned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><u>Under UAE law, the following acts could be a criminal offence and result in fines or imprisonment:<\/u><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> tagging a person without his consent<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> posting other people&#8217;s pictures or videos without their consent<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> threatening people<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> spreading information that is not verified by the official sources<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> gossiping about people or maligning them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><u>STUDENTS\u2019 RESPONSIBILITIES<\/u><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> students must abide by UAE laws that govern social media<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> students must\u00a0 not\u00a0 tag\u00a0 or\u00a0 post pictures, videos, and\u00a0 audio\u00a0 clips\u00a0 featuring\u00a0 other students, school staff, or school premises on social media, without consent<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> students must not insult or make fun of other students or school staff on social media<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> students must\u00a0 not\u00a0 spread\u00a0 false\u00a0 information\u00a0 or\u00a0 rumours,\u00a0 or\u00a0 gossip\u00a0 about\u00a0 other students and school staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><u>PENALTY<\/u><\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> offensive posts that violate the privacy of other students and school staff or break UAE laws will be considered a Level 3 violation<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> students engaging in such activities may face suspension or expulsion<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-mobile-phone\" style=\"color:#465f9b\"><\/i> such violations will be reported to relevant authorities for
