From exams to talent exhibitions, from sports to the arts, and even in our possessions and wealth, competition is everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>These competitions are reflective of the way society has been structured, and we often get carried away in the process.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to understand the dynamics of competition and how they relate to us individually. This understanding influences how we live our lives and conduct ourselves in every sphere.<\/p>\n<p>The very idea of treating exams as competitions is, in itself, a digression from their true purpose. We compare our ranks with those of others and value ourselves based on how we perform in relation to them.<\/p>\n<p>The realisation we need is that we are in a race with no one. No two leaves on the same branch look exactly alike. This is a reminder that we are meant to bloom differently in life.<\/p>\n<p>In essence, each of us is meant to embark on a unique journey, and our benchmark should always be how much we improve ourselves. Just as the sky is filled with countless stars, there is space for all of us to shine in our own way and in our own time.<\/p>\n<p>As humans, we are all made differently, and our definitions of success will differ too. Success is deeply personal and will always be connected to the things that bring us happiness and contentment.<\/p>\n<p>The joy we derive from competition is often influenced by the fact that someone else has performed worse than we have. But when we make ourselves the benchmark of our own journey, we become inwardly focused, driven by just one goal: to better ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>The compounding effect of this attitude, coupled with perseverance, can take us leagues ahead.
