Dear Parents,

Due to complaints to the Abu Dhabi Police, Merryland has been directed not to place staff on the roadway to help children crossing or to direct traffic. As such, we must kindly ask, for the safety of yourself and your children, that you do not drop your children on the opposite side of the road as we are no longer able to assist in safely crossing the road.

Further, we have noted that a number of families are attempting to utilize the bus gate (gate number 2) to drop off children. We kindly ask that you utilize ONLY the pedestrian gates (gate 3 and 4) for parental drop off and pickup procedures. The buses are quite large with many blind spots and walking around them is extremely dangerous. We have staff coordinating the children coming on and off the buses but do not have staff available to also watch for other pedestrian traffic. Further, as families are often crossing the street to facilitate the use of this gate, and as mentioned above, we have been directed by Abu Dhabi Police not to assist with this.

Please use extreme caution when driving or walking around the school during morning drop off and afternoon dispersals as the school is now extremely limited in what role we can play to assist in navigating the roads around the school.
