Sitting CAMBRIDGE exams in 2021 – what students need to know

Dear Parents and Students,

Please refer to the letter from Cambridge which contains important information regarding the June 2021 exam series. What can be understood is:

1. The exam series will continue as long as governments permit.

Thanks to the relentless efforts of the UAE government and the adeptness with which the pandemic has been handled, the situation appears to be under control and we can afford to have a positive outlook for 2021.

2. Schools can request exemptions from some exam components (speaking tests and science practicals).

We will take a decision on this:

* when we receive more information from Cambridge

* if we are convinced that candidates are not adequately prepared for certain components because of disruptions caused by COVID-19

* after we analyze the pros and cons and share these with you

* after we consult you

In the meanwhile, our advice to all students of Grades 10, 11 and 12 is, to work closely with their teachers and prepare diligently to write the IGCSE, AS and A Level exams in June 2021.

All the best!
