Merryland’s Very Own

At this bleak time of uncertainty, triggered by a vicious pandemic, a large number of school events such as Drama Club activities and National Day celebrations were, disappointingly, forced to put on hold. However, this paved way for a novel idea of putting up a virtual show which we hope will evoke the same frisson of excitement and anticipation just like the other events.

The MIS Student Council plans to create a comfortable platform for effortless communication where students can voice their opinions and share their perspectives freely and candidly. Accordingly, this show is being curated to offer the participants the freedom to take either a supportive or dissenting stance on topics or issues that pique everyone’s interest. To make this intellectual feast appeal to pupils of all ages and tastes, it will be served with an extra dollop of humour. Intriguingly, guests from diverse fields will also appear to enlighten “The Good Afternoon Show.” We can assure you that your week-long wait will never go in vain.

Through this infotainment, the Student Council wishes to provide pupils with opportunities to display school values and also to stimulate individual growth by way of helping them vocalize their opinions from a common platform. These opinions will be one of the factors taken into account for the development of the upcoming events and activities.

So, stay tuned for the next episode, titled “Cultural Crowns”, which will comprise rich conversations on culture and also the awe-inspiring diversity Merryland harbours. If you wish to partake in the upcoming episodes, head over to the Student Council section of the school website right away and fill in the suggestions form.

With this show, the Student Council hopes to mark the beginning of something new and innovative; every stroke painted by students themselves.
