Aren’t we constantly worrying about things?

Aren’t we constantly worrying about things?

We are anxious about unpredictable things, not necessarily thinking about the future but wanting to control it

When will this pandemic end?

When will I be able to travel again?

When will I be able to meet my dear one’s?

As quoted by Jodi Picoult, “Anxiety is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you very far”

We just need to unplug ourselves from these thoughts for a few minutes.

TIPS ON HANDLING ANXIETY

  • Get Moving! Release the energy that is holding you back. Walk, run, dance, sing, cook or sleep
  • Take 5-10 minutes daily to meditate or simply sit in silence
  • Take care of your health. Eat well. Sleep well. Drink water
  • Focus 20% on problems and 80% on solutions
  • Journal daily – Count only your blessings
  • YOU ARE DOING THE BEST YOU CAN – Pat yourself
  • Spend time with safe friends and family
  • Do not be afraid to ask for support
