WOMEN’S DAY
Its that time of the year again when suddenly everyone’s social media profiles are filled with the pictures of their respected mothers and wives. Where everyone is talking about the different roles played by a women: Women leaders, entrepreneurs, social activities etc . Time to praise her for all that she does every single day but is thought of only once a year.
Do we need a day to celebrate womanhood? Or Do we need only a day to celebrate womanhood?
“Oh Women !
Whether you are fair or dusky,
Size 0 or plus size
Whether you are tall or short,
Or follow what you have been taught
Whether you wear heels or flats,
Your feet better be grounded on that
And if you have a mind of your own
You better sweep in under the mat”
This is how we treated women for the longest time in history and honestly it still exists
Being a woman of substance: CEO of a company, a pilot, an engineer, a doctor, a teacher, a police officer, a truck driver, a DJ, a comedian, a wrestler… Was always a part of a girl’s whims and fancies.
But today it has come true. Women have reached such heights in their professional life but what do we see in women :
30 year old not yet married?
2 years of marriage but do not have a kid?
Going to work leaving your infant at a daycare?
Wearing modern clothes even after marriage?
Spending parent’s savings on education rather than her wedding?
Going for a party leaving her kids with the husband ?
Pursuing higher studies instead of supporting the family?
Single mother ! how will she raise a child without a man ?
For everything a woman does, society has a question and somewhere down the line, we have been conditioned to look at them a certain way. Someone who is fragile, dependent on others, always sacrificing, soft-spoken and submissive. but is that truly how a woman is?
“She is beautiful in and out not by makeup but by heart
She not only likes to sit on a bike but loves to ride it too
She is strong enough to discipline her kids but loves them more than herself
She is expressive in her thoughts, words and actions representing an entire nation”
Kudos to all the woman out there and a big shout out to all the budding woman who will have their own league
Mumma, grandma, aunty, sister, wife, teacher, neighbour, friends and to all of those women in our life – A HAPPY WOMEN’S DAY
We love you to the moon and back
You are not defined by your beauty, skin colour, marital status, profession or fertility.
You are loved just the way you are, the endless love and compassion you have for everyone around, those sparkling eyes and that smile.
