Cooking help young kids learn and practice basic math concepts and build language skills. The experience of creating meals helps build their self-confidence and lay the foundation for healthy eating habits. An atmosphere with friends around and teacher assisting them in making popcorn was a culinary adventure for the kindergarteners.
On 28 May, 2022 the children of KG1 celebrated Popcorn Day. It was a fun filled day for the kids as they enjoyed as well as learnt how to make popcorn.
The kids were dressed in their aprons with all the necessary ingredients and went right to work making popcorn.
This experience helped kids hone basic math skills, explaining to them the ingredients needed to make popcorn, introduced them to new words to their vocabulary, which promoted literacy and listening skills.
The kids had an enjoyable day and once the popcorn was ready they relished it and were excited that they had learnt the art of making popcorn.
