SAY-NO-TO-PLASTIC

Students Spread Awareness against Plastic

In a bid to spread awareness among the public on the need of doing away with the environmentally-unfriendly’ plastic and to encourage people to keep the surroundings waste-free and clean, Merryland students launched a ‘SAY-NO-TO-PLASTIC’ initiative and embarked on the mission with missionary zeal. Having found the previous ventures a runaway success with the whole-hearted support from the authorities especially from Captain Mohamed Alsaadi of community police Abu Dhabi and Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Event department coordinator, Zayed Municipality centre, Mussafah. Students this time took on the task of cleaning G4 Park, Mussafah, Abu Dhabi.

Students, staff and the Chairman of the school , Mr Aaron Grandon converged at the Park with the necessary cleaning paraphernalia and set off hunting for the pieces of plastic waste lying scattered all around. Within no time the park was completely devoid of any detritus. Having given the Park a clean face-lift, students smiling smugly, boarded the buses back to school.
